"The Mahdi will rule the world just like
Dhu'lqarnayn and Sulayman."

This hadith indicates we should examine the accounts of Dhu'lqarnayn and the Prophet Sulayman (as) in the Qur'an in the context of the subject of the Mahdi.
The hadith below also reveal that there are significant allusions to the End Times in the stories of al-Kahf (the Cave) and Talut. Our Prophet (saas) could have expressed the hadith regarding the End Times and the Mahdi in many different ways. However, as can be seen from the examples cited here, linking the way these are linked to accounts in the Qur'an represents powerful evidence of the subject under discussion. Our Prophet (saas) says:

"The People of the Cave will be the Mahdi's helpmates."
